The Five Pillar Foundation Team Learn First Aid!

Wira, the co-founder of Five Pillar Foundation, recounts his experience of the First Aid Training below.

The Five Pillar Foundation Team (including Wira, Dimas, Komang, Dodik, Ika, Suma, Agus and Ngurah) recently attended "First Aid Training & Basic Life Support" held at BIMC Siloam Nusa Dua-Bali. Since the training started at 9am, this makes us have to leave early (at 4:30am) from the Negara (West Bali) to avoid long traffic to Nusa Dua before work hours. The training covered many things including AFA (Asthma First Aid), CPR (Pulmonary Heart Resuscitation), CPR / DRCAB (Danger Response CPR Airway Breathing). We also learnt about handling emergency situations such as choking and injury, until the evacuation of the victim.

The material was presented in a relaxed but serious manner. The portion of practice was much more than the proportion of theory so that we can directly apply it in the field if at any time an emergency occurs. We felt we gained so much knowledge through this training, especially in the matter of medical emergency treatment that requires fast, precise and efficient action.

The most memorable for us is how to evacuate the victim from a car accident. It turns out, really not easy. Various factors must be taken into account to minimise the damage that may occur. Hopefully what we learnt in "First Aid Training & Basic Life Support" is a valuable reference in the face of medical emergency situations that may occur not only around the office, the community environment as well as in the family itself.

Real Indonesia financially supported the Five Pillar Foundation Team to take part in First Aid Training in Bali. This is part of Real Indonesia's mission of supporting the development of our local partners. To learn more about Five Pillar Foundation read our past blog post HERE.
